The Real BNP – on Rape and Violence towards Women

Some commentators on this blog suggest that the BNP is not a nasty, thuggish, extremist fascist party. It is they claim, just a traditionally minded politicial Party that happens to be against immigration and has nothing to do with the Nazi's.

Well, Searchlight has exposed the BNP Number 2 candidate in the GLA elections, Nick Eriksen (and London BNP organiser) as someone who openly excuses rape and violence towards women. Please check out the link. The BNP reckon they will get at least 8% of the vote in the GLA election and if that it true (I hope and expect not), then Eriksen would have probably been elected for the BNP.

Eriksen claims that "rape is simply sex" and “Men who go along with the rape myth are either morons or traitors”. He also seems to think that it is acceptable for men to give their wives "a good slap!”

I don’t think that anybody makes the case that all people who may feel sympathetic to BNP arguments are supporters of rape or violence towards women. However, I think that this illustrates the widespread concern that many people do not understand or appreciate what the BNP is really about. Why it was formed, who are their leaders and what are their true aims?

The BNP is a National Socialist political party which is rooted in Nazism. This is the political philosophy of Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler during the Second World War. Its political theory is alien and foreign to this country. The BNP is not a genuine democratic nor British Party.

If you have concerns about immigration then join a democratic British Political party and argue your case. Don’t support something that hides its true identity and pretends that it is something that it is not.

Funny how this story comes to light 3 years after the event and just before an election.

"Some women are like gongs - they need to be struck regularly." that's a quote from Noel Coward. Judging by that quote, I would expect the article in question to be a satirical one.

Who knows? He might be just a bit thick. Maybe he thinks he's funny.

Anyhow, funny how lefties always complain about the Daily Mail being full of cr@p, yet this time, amazingly, they are spot on with the facts.

Dodgy lot these politicians, check out the latest news;

Labour;

Rob Dix, a South Tyneside councillor has been suspended by Labour Party chiefs after being arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated disorder.

Lib Dems;

Police have spoken to Blackburn Liberal Democrat Coun Yusuf Sidat following an alleged incident involving a woman in Bradford. He has been suspended by his party for the alleged assault

Tory;

The former Tory leader of Hampshire County Council has been arrested over an allegation of child abuse. Fred Emery-Wallis, was arrested on suspicion of the indecent assault of a girl.

Has Your Vote Already Been Stolen - waiting to be used by someone else ?
Daily Telegraph investigation proves how true our warning has been. No checks, no questions asked: that's how easy it is to obtain 11 postal ballots

Unless you Act Now you will not know if it has been stolen until you go to vote on Polling Day. Then you will find out by being turned away and not allowed to vote 'because you have a Postal Vote' (even though you have never asked for one) while your vote is cast by the thief.

We believe that this is a matter of such extreme importance to democracy in Britain that you should act on this immediately. The Judge in the recent trial stated that the 'widespread' and 'systematic' vote fraud carried out by Labour Councillors was worse than a 'banana republic'. He condemned the Government for complacency in refusing to admit that there was a problem.

There are already massive increases in Postal Vote applications across the country and particularly in Labour marginal seats. If we, as the public, do not act on this now there is a real danger of the next election becoming a 'Mugabe style' farce bringing with it a government which may be seen as neither fairly nor truly elected.

. Labour Councillor (Newton Aycliffe) Martin Locklyn - Convicted and jailed for 15 years for sexually abusing 3 14-year-old boys.

. Labour Councillor (North Lincolnshire) David Spooner - Convicted and jailed for 1 year for masturbating in front of 2 young boys.

. Labour Mayor (Westhoughton/Lancashire) Nicholas Green - Convicted and jailed for 10 years for 3 rapes and 13 counts of indecent assault against little girls between the age of 6 and 10. He raped one woman on her wedding day.

. Prominent Labour Party activist Mark Tann (who has met Tony & Cherie at Party functions) recently got a 15-year sentence for raping a 4-year old girl on 2 separate occasions.

. Entire Labour Party conspired to conceal the activities of Labour Party activist and serial child-molester Mark Trotter, who died from AIDS before he could be convicted.

. Labour Councillor (Manchester), George Harding - Charged with indecent assault on a girl of 12.

. According to media reports, the names of 2 former Labour Cabinet Ministers said to be `Household names` appear on the `Operation Ore ` list of subscribers to hard-core child pornography. The same FBI investigation, which led to the arrest of rock star Pete Townshend. So who are they Mr Blair?

. William Straw - Son of Labour Foreign Secretary, and former Home Secretary - Jack Straw, was cautioned by Police for drug dealing, amid a frantic Government attempt to cover up the matter and gag the media as to his identity. Jack Straw also has a brother who was convicted of a sex attack on a schoolgirl. Lovely family!

. Homosexual mass murderer; Dennis Nielsen, who strangled and dismembered 16 young men in the 1980`s, was also a highly active member of Labour fringe groups such as the Anti-Nazi League, and the SWP. That's when he wasn't busy boiling peoples heads in a pot, or masturbating over the corpses of his victims.

Thanks for the info, John. These people really are scum. He'd probably even say the same if it was his mother, daughter, or wife involved. (Assuming he's got any of these three.) The more this idiocy and hatred is exposed the better.

Andrew Berry said...

John i was disapointed that on one post you allowed a BNP member to comment the scum should have no platform

I think John is right to let the BNP comment. Why should we be afraid of arguing with fascists in the right context? Their arguments need to be examined, shown up and defeated.

I'm not in the BNP and I'm not in Labour, Liberals or Tory parties...never carried their card...never been an activist...but the BNP guys catch you out every time. The problem I see with labour and this Blog is the hypocrisy...we are all apparently one fraternal botherhood, liberty, equlaity, workers rights...until we are elected and then we can no longer live by our ideals? Its goig to be such a laugh when Michael Martin has his expenses published.

The problem with the BNP is that behind their carefully cultivated image is fascism. And like previous versions of fascism it is an appeal to emotion more than reason - fear of the foreign, primitive tribal solidarity, anger and hatred - fictious ideas of the nation, racial type - an appeal to the disaffected working class - nationalism with a splash of socialism - or 'national socialism' as it was previously called.
I agree with anon that some people feel let down by Labour, but the BNP would destroy the very Britishness they profess to protect - our liberties, our tradition of tolerance, our democracy.

Hi anon 1, 2 and 3

Yes, there are a tiny number of some rotten vile apples in the Labour Party (and the other main stream democratic Parties). However, I think that it is legitimate to compare this record with the fact that the a over whelming majority of the BNP leadership, officials and active members have serious criminal records for offenses such as violence, hooliganism and race hate etc. This is not just co-incidental; the BNP bible “Mein Kampf” demands the use of street violence to progress Nazi political objectives.

BTW anon 3 – There was no “cabinet suspects in Operation Ore”; William Straw was never done for “drug dealing” as no doubt you know. Neilson was never a Labour Party member but was just a local civil service steward I believe (and apparently a good one!). He was also a British soldier (NCO) and Policeman.

Anon 4
Yep

Andrew
Fair point...but. I will delete gross racist terms and links to far right web sites. However, I think that those of us on the left need to accept that the BNP does exist and we need to counter their arguments. In the same way that the NF skinhead yobs of my youth have now grown their hair, put on suits and call themselves “democratic” BNP-ers. We need to re-examine how we organise and defeat them.

Anon 6
Yep

Anon 7
Come on matey – we all have rotten apples (not Martin – who I have never met, but seems to be a decent and good man).

What’s wrong with believing the best in people? That we are all deep down brothers and sisters? That what is good for us is also good for society? That equality and justice matters?

I’m not saying that my world is a world of roses – no, its not – but to be a Nazi/fascist and to have such a negative view point of people and the world must be horrible.

I think John is right to let the BNP supporters comment.

But I wonder if these BNP supporters posting on here are aware the very long list of criminal convictions associated with their party, including bomb making? Give the small number of members the BNP has, its criminal history is far more significant.

Evidence of criminal convictions in the BNP leadership please.

Violence and criminal behaviour
Historically the BNP has been associated in the public mind with violent protest and clashes with anti-BNP organisations. Critics of the BNP assert that a significant minority of elected BNP politicians have criminal records and that the party is more tolerant of the criminal actions of some of its members than other parties would be.[142]

In the past, Nick Griffin has defended the threat of violence in furthering the party's aims. After the BNP won its first council seat in 1993, he wrote: "The electors of Millwall did not back a postmodernist rightist party, but what they perceived to be a strong, disciplined organisation with the ability to back up its slogan 'Defend Rights for Whites' with well-directed boots and fists. When the crunch comes, power is the product of force and will, not of rational debate." In 1997, believing he was addressing members of the French Front National, he said: It is more important to control the streets of a city than its council chambers."[143] In January 1986, when Griffin was Deputy Chair of the NF, he advised his audience at an anti-IRA rally to use the "traditional British methods of the brick, the boot and the fist."[144]

The BNP defends itself by arguing that over 20% of the working population has some criminal record or another and that a large proportion of MPs, councillors and activists in the other three main parties are hardly in many cases a shining example either.

A BBC Panorama programme reported on a number of BNP members who have had criminal convictions, some racially motivated. The BBC's list is extensive. Some of the more notable convictions include:

In 1998, Nick Griffin was convicted of violating section 19 of the Public Order Act 1986, relating to incitement to racial hatred. He received a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and was fined £2,300.
Kevin Scott, the BNP's North East regional organiser,[145] has two convictions for assault and using threatening words and behaviour.[146]
Joe Owens, now expelled but previously a BNP candidate in Merseyside and former bodyguard to Nick Griffin,[147][148] has served eight months in prison for sending razor blades in the post to Jewish people and another term for carrying CS gas and knuckledusters.[149]
Tony Wentworth, former BNP student organiser, was convicted alongside Mr Owens for assaulting demonstrators at an anti-BNP event in 2003.[150]
Colin Smith, BNP South East London organiser has 17 convictions for burglary, theft, stealing cars, possession of drugs and assaulting a police officer.[151]

Tony Lecomber cases
Tony Lecomber was jailed for possessing explosives in 1985, after a nail bomb exploded while he was carrying it to the offices of the Workers' Revolutionary Party; and again for three years in 1991, for assaulting a Jewish teacher who was removing a BNP sticker at a London Underground station.[152] He was Propaganda Director of the BNP at the time of the latter conviction.[153] He was Nick Griffin's key deputy in the party from 1999 until January 2006.) Nick Griffin has written of the latter conviction is that "in reality he defended himself after being attacked by a far-left thug who was a close comrade of the IRA 'active service unit' that planted the Harrod's Bomb" and that "Tony Lecomber is no longer even a member of the British National Party". Martin Webster and Joe Owens have both asserted that Lecomber's departure from the party followed his failed attempt to recruit Owens to murder members of the political establishment.[154] (See article on Tony Lecomber for details).

Robert Cottage case
In October 2006, Robert Cottage, a BNP candidate earlier in the year for election to represent Colne on Pendle Council, "was arrested under the Explosives Act on suspicion of possessing chemicals that may be capable of making an explosion."[155] Cottage was also reported as having possessed the largest quantity of explosives of its type ever found in this country.[156] Cottage's party membership was said to have lapsed at the time of the arrest. An associate of Cottage, David Bolus Jackson, whom he had met at a BNP meeting[157] was also arrested at this time.

The case came before Manchester Crown Court on February 12, 2007 where it was claimed by the prosecution that Cottage had plans to assassinate Tony Blair and Liberal Democrat peer Lord Greaves. Cottage pleaded guilty to one count of the possession of explosives, but denied the count pertaining to conspiracy to cause an explosion. Jackson pleaded not guilty.[158] In a statement read in court by the prosecution counsel, Cottage's wife said that he believed that "civil war" was imminent in the UK.[159]

The jury in the trial was unable to reach verdicts and the case was set for retrial in July 2007, when, once again, the jury failed to reach a verdict. The prosecution indicated that it would not seek a further retrial.[160] On 31 July 2007, Cottage was sentenced to two and a half years imprisonment for the charge he had admitted of possessing explosives.

I don't think many would have missed the war criminal Blair.

War Criminal?

Interesting – why I can understand that many disagree and criticise Blair over his foreign policy, why this need to personally damn him?

Are you so insecure with your arguments that you think he was wrong that you have this need to make him out to be a morally wrong ‘em? Attack the arguments not the man?

No wonder Blair was able to fend off attacks about the consequences of his decisions, since so many decided to take the lazy road of attacking his character and honesty. LOL (I only found out what LOL meant this week!)
