Calling All UNISON Members: Vote against Extremists!

Calling all UNISON Members: NEC and Service Group Elections

I got my UNISON (London region) ballot papers in the post this morning. UNISON Elections are also taking place all over the UK.

It’s probably true to say for all postal ballots, that people tend to either vote within a day or so of receiving the ballot papers or not at all. So, please don’t put the ballot papers on the shelf for later. Fill out the ballot papers now and put in the post (and vote for trade unionists that put members first).

Please make sure you vote and encourage all of your fellow members to vote. Below are centre left London Region Candidates. But elsewhere, a quick read of the election statements will usually tell you who are United Left (which is dominated by the SWP) and who are not.

Stand up, be counted and vote for democracy

GREATER LONDON REGION

Hi John,

As with most right-wingers you offer no justification for voting for these people beyond:
1. They are not in the United left
2. They will 'put members first' (presumably unless those members happen to be of the wrong political viewpoint for your liking).

I must say didn't read them that closely but so far I've not seen any election addresses claiming their going to put the members second or third.

It would be useful if you or any other right wingers would actually give some positive reasons for voting for your slate, focusing on what they stand for or what they are going to do that other candidates aren't rather than just trying to slander the opposition. Otherwise it becomes a de-politicised appeal to some unthinking red-baiting tribalism.

Hi Simon

Check out my post Friday 6th! http://grayee.blogspot.com/2007/04/london4change-unison-national-executive_06.html Copy of the London4Change manifesto. You may not agree with them but in my view there are plenty of “positive reasons” why members should vote for them rather than SWP/United Left.

Interesting you are taking the moral high ground on this while dismissing us all as “right-wingers”?

Unfortunately there are a number of United Left candidates who will put the interests of “the revolution” (daydream) above the interests of their members. You are quite right that they do not actually admit this in their statements.
